Summary from Usborne
Cammie loves being a member of the Pearlies - the waviest club in Rainbow Reef! She's determined to do well in her first-aid task and earn her second Proficiency Pearl. But when her best friend, Shell, shows a natural talent for healing, Cammies get competitive... and soon their friendship needs some urgent first aid.
Nayuleska's reasons for loving Cammie....her personality is very much like my own, although she takes a few more risks than I do.
Is there another character who deserves a mention? Yes - Jess! We share the same name which makes her character super colour (I love being bluey-green, plus we share the same dream of being a writer which is really awesome!)
How evil/nasty is the enemy? Jealousy is a highly evil trait to have (hand in hand with envy). Cammie's classmate Corietta is the mean seahorse, putting others in danger through her attitude problem.
Are there plenty of plot twists and surprises? There are enough for the type of story it is.
One of my favourite parts was...when Cammie practiced tying a tail bandage on her twin siblings. It was a case of trying so hard that she brushes away her mother's offer of help.
Maybe I'm biased because I've loved all of LA Weatherly's books (Zuzu is an alias), but this gets 10/10.
Suggested reads
Try another cool series of LA Weatherly, Pocket Cats! I recommend Cat Burglar (under the alias of Kitty Wells)
For a bit of magic and sparkly, check out LA Weatherly's Glitterwings Academy (under the alias of Tatania Woods) Here's #11, Friendship Dance.
