Coming up this week #1

You would think that being snowbound I have plenty of opportunity for reviewing (and writing). But there's this mysterious creature called the weekend. Somehow I have a tendency to want to kick back and relax. My Muse is on strike. Now, this shouldn't impact reviews. But my writing Muse is also my reviewing Muse - she has a whole wardrobe of outfits: writing Muse, book reviewing Muse, editing Muse, beta reading Muse....etc.

It's after 4pm on Sunday and my reviewing Muse is refusing to come up with anything interesting to say. So I'm letting her off, with the proviso that I write at least 2 reviews tomorrow, ideally 3.

Coming up this week - reviews of the following.

Looking at the covers, it dawns on me how different the first two are to each other. I like reviewing such a wide range of books. I've broadened the genres I read by starting up this blog (including books from a male main character's point of view which was unheard for in the past), I've come across lots of brilliant authors, and generally have had a good time.

Let's hope 2010 holds more lovely books!

The cover of The Returners has definitely piqued my interest. I look forward to hearing all about it!

It's book 2 in a trilogy, but I haven't felt that I've missed out on understanding the story because I haven't read book 1.

I've been thinking about writing a few posts on books...especially book covers/titles etc.

I'm beginning to see a trend in some book covers at the moment, so I may try and write up that post sometimes this week.

I actually really like the cover of Hunger. Something about the simplicity of it strikes me :)

Gone is just as similar...neither books are simple (or exactly pleasant in content!) (In a good, gruesome way).

I absolutely loved Gone. Totally absorbed by it. I need to get myself Hunger. I have instructed hubby to be on the lookout for me. Please write your review, I'd love to hear what you think of it.

Awesome! I look forward to your reviews. I've been curious about Hunger, but Princesses are not Perfect looks great too. ;)

Dany - I think Gone and Hunger might not be for you...content wise they contain some disturbing, nausea inducing scenes.

Thanks for the comments - it helps spur me just that little bit more to writing the reviews :)
