Nayu's Gaming Time #26 Nintendo Switch Lite review + Hatsune Miku Project Diva Mega39s incoming!!!!!

Before people get mad at me saying it isn't the correct title, it is for the Japan version. I put the Western version title below the first sentence. It is 39s in Japan, Megamix in the West. So nyah!!!

There is just under a week until this absolutely awesome game is out!

I predownloaded it yesterday - for some reason games on the Japanese Nintendo Switch eshop take forever to arrive for preorder. I was checking daily and the one day I didn't check it appeared. I only noticed because someone I follow tweeted about it. 

 I will be spending my Valentine's day with the best vocaloid in the universe!!!!

And yes I now have a Nintendo Switch Lite! I got it on Tuesday - I was able to trade my old Switch and one game in for it in Game, meaning I got it for free! I wanted a lighter console because I game for hours daily, I have weak hands and I found the weight of my Vita/2DS XL easier than my original Switch. The Lite is incredible.

The Nintendo Switch Lite is totally the right choice for me. It's signifcantly lighter in weight, I don't feel like it will fall apart in my hands as there are no joycons, the clarity does seem better on the slightly smaller screen which I have got used to straight away. I love it to pieces. I'd hoped for but that hope failed when I saw the edition was for the main Switch. I understand Nintendo's reasoning for this - more people like the Switch then the Lite - but I was still very disappointed. There's still hope of me getting a fun decorated Lite! I love my yellow one so much, it is perfect for handheld only gamers. When I am able to play on the TV I have my PS4 with a stack of games to enjoy. I never used the rumble feature on the Switch because my cat didn't like it and I do a lot to keep her happy. I can still play wirelessly with my Zelda controller (I think....). All in all a very good trade in! 

I'd love to hear if you have a Lite, or are considering one. And are you getting the new Miku game now in Japanese or waiting for the English version? I've played a lot of rhythm games, especially Project Diva so there is no point me waiting when I don't have to. Very little needs to be understood in rhythm games! I was worried it may not work on the Lite, as one feature of the game is playing with joycons off the console for the non-button way of playing, but I am a button only girl plus I've since seen the back of the box which shows it is suitable for the Lite!

Nayu's Gaming Time #7 Games I'm currently playing

No idea who this is, but she's cute, which many of my gaming characters are!

Hi all! As Autumn/Winter continues bringing colder weather I'm getting in more & more rest since my body so doesn't function properly at this time of year. That means lots of gaming is happening - yay! The arrival of my PS4 means I've mostly played PS4 games. That includes

Hatsune Miku Project Diva X: 

The songs on this Miku installment are fun, I like the stage style shows, and there's a novel way of getting outfits (although I wish that game play would stop during the outfit change so I can fully take in the beauty of the modules (the game's name for clothes)

Hatsune Miku Project Diva Future Tone 

The ultimate of ultimate Miku games, with over 200 songs (it's in 2 packs but I bought the bundle which allows me to switch hairstyles too! Sadly can't switch clothes/hairstyles between different characters. I mostly play as Miku, Luka and Rin. 

I've played all the easy songs, trying to do some normal ones but some of the button presses are more complex and extremely challenging. Normal level has more songs than easy including my favourites. I have recently downloaded the 2nd and 3rd bonus packs (think they were free...) which got me one of my favourite songs, Hand in Hand. You can see it on Youtube. I've watched a few PVs, where you can take photos at any point, which are then shown as the unfortunately short loading screen images! 

World of Final Fantasy

This is super cute, I love the FF10 style of skill upgrades for all the monsters captured. I haven't got too far yet, but I'm absolutely loving it! The inability to save whenever I want does limit when I play it, as I need to allow at least an hour because I've no idea where the save points are. I'm so fortunate to have ended up with a 1st day release version, so I can happily have the Japanese voice over!! I always prefer this to English.

Blue Reflection

Aside from the distinct lack of transformation scenes it is an incredible game. I love going on the missions to increase my character stats, and learning more about all the girls involved with Hinako. The fight scenes most definitely have a magical girl feel!

 Atelier Totori

This is after the frustrating Atelier Rorona which I did want to give up on - the time limit restriction was insane, and meant I couldn't explore as much as I usually do. Thankfully Totori's limits aren't that obvious. I am restarting the game because the parts I've played I did things I really didn't need to do (which I think advanced the time along), so by starting from the beginning I'm hoping to save a few days. I absolutely love this game! Totori is super cute and funny, trying to stand up to her older sister who doesn't want her to be an adventurer. Every element is charming and I'm so playing this again (unlike Atelier Rorona...)

Nayu's Gaming Time #6 From RPG to Rhythm games

My love for Yuna in Final Fantasy X & X2 lead to my online name being created! Here she is about to start the ceremony for those who died in Sin's attack.

Today's post is all about gaming! When I first started gaming I was initially a platform gamer girl: think Super Mario, Sonic, and Rayman. I liked a few driving games too. This changed when I was introduced to Final Fantasy 7, a series which I adore (only #7-12. Before they are too long winded #13 onwards is a bit dark, gritty, and I have yet to complete them), thus sending me into a good decade of Role Playing Game heaven.

Probably 18 months ago, or whenever I first discovered Aikatsu anime I became interested in rhythm games. These are games where you press buttons/tap on the screen in time with the markers on screen. Last year I was able to get a Japanese Nintendo 3DS, which meant I could play the games of the characters I adore, namely Aikatsu and Hatsune Miku. I can play a song any time, making it an easier genre to play in short bursts (or longer ones) unlike RPGs where you usually need at least an hour free if you can't constantly save your progress.

Those of you following me on Twitter know how obsessed I am with Love Live School Idol Festival game. This is the game for the anime about 9 girls who become school idols who sing and dance to save their school from closure, and do a whole load more. There are lots of catching songs, and the characters are highly entertaining. I love the show a lot, so imagine my delight when I could play a rhythm game version of it! The downside was that my devices were too old/crammed with audiobooks to be able to play it.

For a while I borrowed my family's device on a daily basis, but this wasn't always convenient for them, so when someone upgraded their Fruit device I got their old one and voila, I was able to play LLSIF any time I liked! Which is every single day unless I'm not well enough for it. I strongly dislike Fruit devices, as they are not user friendly in my experience, but I'm grateful to be able to play LLSIIF so I do make an exception. It's awesome listening to the songs, getting pretty cards, and generally having fun. When LP runs out/I want a break I hop on over to Aikatsu and Miku's songs, which are equally bubbly with more pretty outfits.

I love gaming!!! Pusheen says it best when she describes her kind of weekend. I'm mostly definitely a Rhythm Game gamer now, with some RPG gaming too - yikes I missed out a category! Life simulation games like Animal Crossing and Disney Magic Castle also feature fairly heavily in my gaming life - both are awesome! First off hi if you've come over from my craft blog, Nayu's Crochet Dreams. When I do catch up posts I try to alternate where I post the original, and which blog I direct people to from the other blog. There is sense in that sentence somewhere...

My baby girl! (not a baby, but definitely a girl with Attitude!

The last few days I've seen a lot of my cat - I haven't been well and my cat often stays with me until I'm better. I'm on the mend from Wednesday afternoon's completely random & horrid being ill episode (sort of like flu but for a few hours only - my body is known to be weird), managed to tackle all emails today and hope to do some blog work in a few days. I need to go grocery shopping tomorrow and I've family over on Sunday so nothing will happen before Tuesday (Monday will be a rest day).

I switch to audiobooks when I'm tired.

I've been reading quite a bit lately, and almost finished all my review books! Since I'm reviewing less these days that's not as big of an achievement as it sounds, but it's nice to be on top o things. 

As usual if you want updates on how I'm doing I'm most active on Twitter under the name Nayuleska (with the @ in front of it). Those of you who follow me know I'm making steady progress on my current crochet project (I'm so used to speaking about it on Twitter I almost automatically adding a hashtag to the word crochet just now!) I don't know how big it will be, depends when I run out of yarn. It won't be huge, so more of a baby/lap blanket size. I love the colours and it's rather soft to the touch. 

Who could this be? Hint: it's a certain vocaloid I love...

Gaming wise I've been playing a lot of Love Live School Idol Festival - all updates are pretty much on hold until Ramadan is over as my focus in the day is less on how gorgeous the cards are and more on listening to the Quran/appropriate audibooks while I play with the sound on the game off (none of the songs are appropriate for Ramadan) & cute pop ups during the game turned off. I've yet to see any cute pictures where artists have given the girls hijab (headscarfs) & more modest clothing, like this one of Hatsune Miku which is so cute! Miku's on hiatus until after Ramadan (songs definitely not appropriate!) too. However, there are quite a few Aikatsu songs I can listen to, not that I have gamed much on it. Animal Crossing New Leaf has featured a lot in my gaming time - little beats shaking trees for fruit to be sold! 

There will be a Ramadan post next week (albeit copy and paste from previous years...), and several book reviews too. Thank you for being patient with my lack of posts - have a super weekend!

Nayu's Gaming Time #5 Fun with Miku-chan #1

Due to having limited online time today I'm posting this early and fast, so am not putting up a review. Pretty much all my gaming posts will have 2 #s to indicate they are a gaming post and what game I'm referring to (as there will be more than 1 post on each game). I hope that's not too confusing for you! 

Miku is so cute in all her forms!

Years ago I came across the super cute Hatsune Miku, aka Miku-chan! She is a vocaloid, a singer whose voice is created using software rather than having a human voice. You can find out more on the semi-accurate Wikipedia page. She isn't the only vocaloid, but she's very popular in Japan (where she was created). Anyone who can understand the software can create music with her and her friends, which is why there are thousands of songs by her. 

The amount of fanart is incredible - I love how some have given her a modest make-over, keeping the essence of Miku with Islamic fashion!

I initially liked her because she looks adorable. She is famous for her twin ponytale hairstyle, mostly green, although it can change colour and style depending what outfit she is wearing: the most obvious being pink for the sakura outfit and blue for winter/magical outfits. 

I ran out of time to find her season outfits, but this is one of her magic outfits with blue hair! The winter ones have cute snowflakes in it. ^o^

I discovered her video games a few years back, but was so abysmal on them I didn't play them until I rediscovered her last year on Nintendo 3DS. It's a basic rhythm game, you hit the buttons that appear on the screen while listening to her songs. I will go into the games in more detail, but thanks to a lot of practice on the 3DS I can finally play on her playstation games, Project Diva! Sadly I don't have a PS4 so no Future Tone for me (which looks unbelievably amazing), Project F & F2 is suiting me just fine.

I didn't know that one of my favourite pictures that I like to use on this blog and is currently a screen wallpaper is of Miku!!! Discovered it in a Miku picture search this week.

Hello! I'm back from Devon, and slowly getting back to what counts as normality round here. Had an amazing time, did underestimate the exhaustion of it all though. Then had mega meds ketamine on Weds & yeah, it's been an interesting few days, full of an insane amount of DVDs, gaming, & a little reading (craft isn't an easy thing to do when lying down). 

Today I'm working through a week of emails, I'm out tomorrow, and hope to do a little blog work Weds. So it'll be a few more days until I'm back to normal online. Which includes tomorrow's meme, which is being skipped due to lack of ability to put words together before today.

I'll be linking to a post on Nayu's Crochet's Dreams hopefully tomorrow, which chats about what I've done today (cooking yummy food!), but wanted to say hi, I'm about and doing ok. Been relaxing with lots of Hatsune Miku songs (Japanese vocaloid) - see Wikipedia for an explanation if you aren't sure who she is.
