Sea Urchins and Sand Pigs by Cornelia Funke (Children's, Dyslexic friendly, 5 years +, 9/10E, semi short 'n' sweet review)

April 2014, Barrington Stoke, 96 pages, Paperback, Review copy

Summary from Barrington Stoke
With treasure trails, dune pigs and the occasional visiting mermaid, there’s never a dull moment in Sandy Cove, as a gang of children find out when they visit the holiday village one hot summer!

Nayuleska's thoughts
I want some sand pigs! They sound so adorable, like crisps, and are cute, secretive creatures who end up like sand castles. I liked the fact that each story was about a different child, which was a whole new adventure to read about and imagine experiencing similar things. I was pleased to see mermaids featured in one story – I’m a mermaid fangirl and they are an essential part of sea life! The illustrations are plentiful and made me love the stories even more because they were as I imagined the characters to be.
