Yummy cheese!

March 2015, Little Tiger Press, 32 pages, Hardback, Review copy

Summary from Little Tiger Press
Patrick Elephant is scared of lots of things, like the dark and the fluff under the sofa. His daddy isn’t scared of anything – except mice! So when a mouse posing as a cheese inspector tries to steal the elephants’ cheese, Daddy is too terrified to stop him! Can little Patrick Elephant save the cheese – and his father?

Nayu's thoughts
I don't know about you but whenever I see a title, a cover page, and a book blurb I start forming an expectation of what the tale will be about. I loved how absolutely wrong I was with every plot twist. This is a tale that will challenge your expectations, which I feel depicts real life rather accurately. The tale is unusual, and enhanced by the cute and detailed illustrations – given the characters are elephants I love how there was a toy that looked just like Babar the Elephant, a character I was obsessed with as a child. I also liked the expressions and humour of the thieves when events turned against them. It's a tale of bravery and a symbol of what mothers and fathers are good at!

Hi, thanks for the great review. Glad you enjoyed my book (well done spotting Babar!).

You're most welcome! Being a Babar fangirl makes him easier to recognise :) Although would have preferred Celeste or baby Isabel, who are probably less recognisable.
