Furry Friends #1 Sophie's Squeaky Surprise by Holly Webb, (Children's, 7 years +, 10E/10E, short 'n' sweet review)

August 2016,  Scholastic, 112 pages, Paperback, Review copy,

Book Summary
Sophie isn't happy about moving to a strange new country and starting at a new school. But then she meets Josephine - a macaroon-eating, tutu-wearing guinea pig, who lives with her furry friends in the centre of Paris. Josephine soon shows Sophie that living in a new place is exciting and being friends with a guinea pig is the best adventure of all.

Nayu's thoughts
I'm one happy fangirl! Holly's animal stories are always awesome, as you can see from yesterday's review (link to follow) this one really stands out in location of Sophie's life (so cool!) and who her new friend is. I wanted to die of cuteness when I saw Josephine-she is adorable in a tutu!!) Even though this is the first book in the series I'm already imagining the kind of adventures Sophie and Josephine will go on. I do wonder if Sophie will ever be able to shrink so she can see where Josephine lives.

There has to be some magic as something happens with a photo that definitely isn't normal (I wish talking guinea pigs wearing tuts was normal...) Sophie really struggles with a bully, but with Josephine's help and her own courage she makes a stand and changes not only her own life but someone elses too.
There are so many fab moments, including when her brother is let into the secret of Josephine's existence. I want the next book right now!! Holly's done it again, creating a superb read that will be reread many times. I'm definitely in fangirl heaven!
