Why Is The Moon Following Us? by Maria Escobedo Cubas (Children's, Picture book, 9/10E, short 'n' sweet review)

April 2015, CreateSpace, 36 pages, Paperback, Review copy

Summary from Amazon (I don't benefit from mentioning them)
Lucy is a curious and joyful girl. Alongside her faithful friend Lulo, her magic rabbit, what seemed to be a simple trip to grandma's house will become a unique adventure, a journey of perseverance to find her own answers. Will Lucy solve the mystery of why the moon is following them?

Nayu's thoughts
As soon as I saw the super cute illustrations I knew I wanted to review this book. The colours feel nice and girly, but the story makes it a read for boys as much as girls. It is perfect for children who continually ask questions. Lucy finds out that adults can be too busy to help answer her questions when she wants them to – she asks a lot of people and they can't help her. However, she seeks another source of help with her bunny Lulo, and that's when the magical journey begins!

I think this will be a popular read at bedtime because of the moon element of the story, and also because of what happens to Lucy and her bunny. I think it can easily lead to scientific questions about the earth, moon, sun, stars and more, which gives room for exploration about the wonders of the universe.
