Carry Me Wipe Clean Shapes (Children's, Board book, Activity book, 9/10E, short 'n' sweet review)

March 2015, Autumn Publishing, 10 pages, Board book, Review copy

Summary from Amazon UK (who I don't gain anything from mentioning them - the Autumn Pubishing website was down)
These Carry Me companions offer pre-schoolers the perfect introduction to essential first learning skills. Trace and Chase focuses on early pen control, and Shapes introduces the child to drawing first shapes. Offering little ones the opportunity to draw and encourage pen control and building confidence in early writing skills. The wipe clean pen means mistakes are never kept simply wipe it off and try again!

Nayu's thoughts
This sturdy wipe clean read is perfect for the intended readership. Each double page looks at one shape. Readers are asked to feel the shape – that's why the grade isn't perfect, the nature of definition to feel suggests that there is going to be a different texture around the shape for the reader to feel with their fingers, but there wasn't. The next step is tracing around the shape – there are lots of dots around each shape to be used as a guide to draw around the shape. Then the next page has a huge space for practicing the shape. Or, if you're an older reader like me, drawing funny faces ^o^
