Summary from Bloomsbury
Rex
has new glasses and he HATES them! He does NOT want to wear them to
school, and he tries to hide them – in the strangest places! But it's
pretty tricky hiding specs that are so big, and round and RED . . .
It's funny how things turn out, though, because Rex's specs end up winning him a gold star, and a new friend. Even better, he can SEE properly. - See more at: http://www.bloomsbury.com/uk/specs-for-rex-9781408836972/#sthash.F1AuXnuN.dpuf

Nayu's thoughts
These
days wearing glasses is seen more as a part of fashion, but it can
take users of all ages time to get used to them. Like Rex I had to
wear glasses when I was little, super thick ones (thankfully
technology makes thinner lenses now & there's such a thing called
contact lenses). I didn't go to the lengths that he went to hide
them, since I had to wear mine all the time, but I could have done
with a story like his to help me see the positive side of wearing
them when I got bullied. A must read for all children, both glasses
wearers & non glasses wearers alike to understand the insecurity
those wearing glasses go through.
