Summary from QED
Elsie is still only a young elephant, but decides she should start looking for a job. But what could the perfect job for her be?
Nayu's thoughts
I
was more taken in by the cute cover than by what the young elephant
might do as a job, so didn't give much thought about career
opportunities. I felt sorry as it tried different occupations with
not much success and it didn't get encouragement and support from the
mentors. The emotions the elephant feels every time it goes back to
its mother is palpable and made me sad, until it found it's niche
which now seems obvious and was a clever way of including everyone
else in the book. The bright illustrations are a joy to look at,
adding more drama to this cute tale.
