You are forgiven if you think the truck is made from plastic. It looks like plastic, it feels like plastic, it can be put in the microwave and the dishwasher like plastic (at least the kitchen range can be, probably wouldn't advise putting the rest in even if they are the same).
This beautiful truck, like all the Dantoy items I recieved for review, are made from sugarcane! The BIOPlastic range is highly sustainable, packaged in recycled card that is deliberately easy to wrap as a gift or stack up.
Metal is not microwavable so the truck can't be zapped but I did marvel at it's constrcution somewhat. It's simple yet extremely durable.
The dumping part of the truck is sturdy and is built to last
.
There is a flap that can be set in lace to aid dumping items.
For size reference this is what an adult Sylvanian Families looks like in the truck cab.
It easily fits in several Sylvanian Families as a mode of transport, making it more than just a dumper truck!
The range includes a cute gardening set that has a fun watering can.
The bucket and spade accompanise the watering can plus a rake not really shown. The muted colours make for a good colour scheme that will suit any home, although personally I would prefer brighter colours. It's tricky to see but each item has flecks in it, presumably part of the processed sugarcane.
It is rather awesome that the kitchen set can be used for real food and drink quite safely, being BPA free, microwave and dishwasher safe.
The kitchen set comes with knives, forks and plates which while I didn't test the strength are probably well suited for pretend play and actual eating. The large tomato is set on the plate for size purposes.
Here is a close up of the cutlery, a perfect size for little hands.
The cooking pot was a nice addition to the kitchen set, perfect to pop anything in not necessarily to cook it, but for play.
I would like to thank Dantoy for sending me so many of their BIO toy range for review. The quality is top class (no I'm not paid to say that, I simply reviwed the items as I've seen them), the inedible sugarcane toys look so much like plastic. Aside from the colour which isn't my top choice there is absolutely nothing wrong with these toys.
There is such a big market for sustainable toys that are environmentally friendlly that Dantoy is on to a winner. All the toys featured here have been passed on to a local primary school so that dozens of children can enjoy the toys for years to come. I recommend looking up the full range of this company based in Denmark as they have many more eco friendly products perfect for playing with. Check out their website.
