Summary from Bloomsbury
When
the day is done and sleep draws near,
When the moon's aglow and stars appear.
I'll whisper something crystal clear -
Words meant just for you to hear.
As nighttime falls and the moon starts to shine, parents and children across the world snuggle up together. So cuddle close, because it's time for a bedtime story.

Nayu's thoughts
This
book is filled with lion love and heartwarming moments between parent
and child. Even the colours of the illustrations are perfect for
bedtime, vibrant, but not so bright they encourage getting hyped up
when they are supposed to be winding down, and with the focus on the
main characters the savannah backgrounds makes it feel like it's just
those two in the book. Make that three. There is a super cute bird
[on this page] which looks extremely similar to my zebra finch, Zack!
the bird in the book |
Flower & Zack, who doesn't have red cheeks |
I did enjoy the main story, but as soon as I saw my Zack, he became
the main character in my head. He's quite safe and doesn't get eaten,
which was a relief. Although lions don't really eat small birds...at
least I don't think they do!
