Nayuleska's thoughts
Daisy never fails to make me laugh, and that is particularly true in this wonderful first colour reader. The first story, Peas, is not just about peas. It's about all of Daisy's favourite things and things she would love to do but can't...that is until her mother tries to bribe her! I'd love to know what would have happened if Daisy had said yes: her mother suggested some incredible treats like lots of chocolate factories!

Tickles saw Daisy being asked not to do stuff by her mother, and Daisy points out exactly when her mother did exactly the same thing. The banter between mother and daughter is hilarious, as is the excuses her mother manages to create. The ending made me smile, especially the way the dialogue was written. Having the pictures all in colour really was a treat! It just goes to show children are extremely observant, and can bring up issues you'd rather keep quiet.
