Summary from Xist Publishing
“Now Humpfree Camel had no humps.
His back was free
of any lumps.
While others had one bump or two,
Just where were Humpfree’s? No one knew.”
Humpfree’s back is as flat as a pancake and he’s not taking it lying
down. He’s off on a wild search looking for his humps, but there are
lots of bumps along the way. What would you do if you were a humpless,
bumpless camel?
Nayuleska's thoughts
I love Humpfree! I was in a mix of falling
about laughing as each new pair of humps failed and wanting to cry for him
because he looked so crestfallen. He is one clever camel to use the objects
nearest to him for humps, but it takes someone else to help him recognise how
special he is. The rhyming verse for me set a solid base of humour, topped by
the cute and expressive illustrations. It's an uplifting read which will help
readers find something about themselves that they are proud of.
