Summary from Simon and Schuster
Are you HAPPY AS A HIPPO?
Or ANGRY AS A DUCK?
Maybe SAD AS A CHICKEN?(Can you sadly say "CLUCK CLUCK"?)Bestselling author and illustrator Sandra Boynton is back with a brand new board book about moods and emotions. Boynton's clever animals exemplify a wide range of emotions in this hilarious story about different feelings. Little ones and adults alike are sure to smile and laugh as interactive text asks them if they are "grumpy as a moose or excited as a dog?", or maybe you might be "worried as a rabbit or contented as a frog?"
Nayuleska's reasons for liking this book...I think everyone, both children and adults need a copy of this book! The simplicity of the book works well with the range of emotions looked at.
What style are the illustrations? Bold colours in clear designs
Is the book interactive and/or are the illustrations engaging? Sort of - there is a lot to think during and after the book is read.
Are there any messages put forward to the reader? It explains moods in an easy way, stressing that moods change, and it's ok to feel angry or sad sometimes, although people who love the person will be there to help cheer them up!
One of my favourite parts was...the happy hippo. Being happy is a wonderful feeling.
I give this really cute book 10/10.
