Keren David's When I Was Joe Online Launch Party!

Here's Keren!

There are few areas of the country which are unaffected by the large dumps of snow from the sky this week. Many of us are snowed in at home, unable to get out and about.

All authors dream of their first novel being published. It is the start of a wonderful journey, filled with some tough times, but its a culmination of an incredible amount of hard work.

I normally wouldn't do this - it would be a bit tricky to have an online launch party for every author's book. But this week is full of unusual weather patterns.

(picture taken from Keren's blog, from the last snow fall I can safely report there were no driving incidents this time)

For Keren David, author of When I Was Joe, (OUT TODAY!) is also snowed in, unable to attend launch parties and other publicity events.

Hence I'm holding a launch part for her!

When I Was Joe tackles contemporary issues in a sensitive manner. My review is here. This post is all about celebrating Keren's debut!

A party isn't a party without the following. All photos have been taken off the net from google images - credit goes to the owners, not me.

Soft, crumbling chocolate chip cookies!

Melt in the mouth cupcakes - with extra frosting!

Fruit filled milkshakes

Freshly squeezed juice

Comfy chairs to sit in

A quill and never-ending pot of Ink for Keren to sign books

It's a party - lets have balloons!

How could I forget icecream?

HAPPY LAUNCH DAY KEREN!

  26. Hello everyone...Charlotte that's an incredibly exciting giveaway, can I have one?

    ReplyDelete
  27. here's to you awesome achievement I will buy and read and share

    ReplyDelete
  28. Naturally it falls to us authors to behave extremely badly at other authors' launch parties, so to fulfill that duty I shall now sit here at my desk drinking, swearing, and badmouthing everyone before falling over and insulting Keren's editor.

On the other hand, I could be NICE and say, congratulations, Keren! And, as I have said many times already, can't wait to read it. Which, of course, is what I really want to say.

    Hic!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Fiona if your copy hasn't arrived I now have one for you..but you will have to sledge over here to get it. Have some more Champagne dahling...

PS Yunaleska Oh dear, we shouldn't really he drinking should we. Luckily it's all virtual.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Fish, leave some cookies for other people please - so pleased to see you here after your devastating weekend (check out Fish's brilliant blog to see what I mean).

    ReplyDelete
  31. Joe, Cristy - this may just turn into a Frances Lincoln tradition, you never know...

    ReplyDelete
  32. There is plenty of food for everyone - the food keeps reappearing whenever crumbs are left.

I'd like to say thank you to everyone for supporting Keren today. This launch party is turning out bigger than expected! Plus its nice that I can attend - usually I can't attend in the flesh publicity events.

Thank you to Frances Lincoln for signing on Keren, and to Keren for creating a great book!

(Er...I'm the wrong person to talk to. I don't drink :) That's why I put juice and milkshakes)

Whoohoo for copies of Almost True! I've requested a copy.

Keren - don't you have a copy of your own book?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Not yet..we're still at the editing stage. That's why I'm a little stunned. You may have to wait a bit for your copy...

    ReplyDelete
  34. Ahhh I see. I don't mind waiting :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Apologies, that was supposed to say we will send you a free copy when it is published, a delayed party bag if you like.

    Love all at FL

    ReplyDelete
  36. Congratulations Keren. Must track down your book when we can get out and about again. Meanwhile, could i have a little drinkie to go with all the ice I've got?

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'd better get cracking with that edit then, eh Keren? I'll just have half a glass of champagne to toast the author and perhaps a small cupcake, and then back to it!

Congrats again Keren and enjoy the party everyone.

    Emily (FL)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Take your time Emily...large glass of Champagne...Fiona wants to insult you...
