I never really thought about that - I was too wrapped up in the story :) I think that could have happened because how Beauty reacted to Beast depended on her relationships with her family.

Rose Daughter - since all of Robin's books are on my wish list, hopefully I'll get around to reading this at some point. I also read Beauty because I had loved Spindle's End so much. ALL of her books are amazing - there are only about 3 I haven't read now.

Personally, I enjoyed McKinley's second retelling of this story - Rose Daughter. If you hadn't read it I would highly recommend it. It is interesting to see how the same author interprets the same story a different way.Elizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17058009271288566400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-601736453324178213.post-5801828427502601662011-01-02T03:25:06.022+00:002011-01-02T03:25:06.022+00:00I read this about 2 years ago and enjoyed it. The only part I didn't like was it took 100 pages until Beauty and the beast met.

Awesome review XDMonster of Bookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18183658520571671673noreply@blogger.com
